Our Story
Audrey Albason is a Filipino accessories brand born from a lifelong love for design, a deep respect for local craft, and a conscious decision to create with greater purpose.
Rooted in Panay Island’s rich tradition of weaving and handcraft, Audrey began working with local cooperatives, weavers, basket makers, and artisans in and around Iloilo City. In this region, craft is not treated as a trend. It is part of daily life — shaped by generations of skill, patience, and resourcefulness.
Audrey Albason bags are made in small batches using natural and locally available materials such as abaca, hablon, piña, jusi, bamboo, pandan, rattan, nito vine, wood, beads, stones, and shells from nearby coastal towns. Each design begins with what the land and sea can offer, then develops through the hands of artisans who understand the character of these materials.
The brand’s work is also shaped by Audrey’s commitment to responsible production. In her solar-run studio, pieces are created at an unhurried pace, allowing the natural beauty of the materials and the skill of the maker to remain visible. Many of the artisans she works with are women who balance family life with farming, fishing, and household responsibilities. Through this work, they are able to earn additional income while continuing to practice the crafts of their communities.
Before focusing on bags, Audrey had already brought Philippine textiles and native materials to international platforms. Her creations were shown at Paris Fashion Week AW 2017 at Hotel d’Evreux in Place Vendôme, London Fashion Week 2018 at Devonshire Square, and the St. Andrews Charity Fashion Show in Scotland in 2019. As the only Filipino designer in those shows, she proudly presented garments made with handwoven fabrics such as abaca, hablon, and piña seda.
Today, that same design sensibility lives on in her accessories. Every Audrey Albason bag carries the quiet beauty of the Philippines: the strength of abaca fiber, the delicacy of beadwork, the richness of coastal details, and the unmistakable touch of the human hand.
No two pieces are exactly alike. Each bag is made to feel personal, considered, and enduring — a piece of contemporary Filipino design that honors where it came from.
